A Poisonous Apple

This year, as Ariel turns 4.5 years old, we decided to do more to encourage literacy, especially now that she is able to read. We want to encourage composing and writing, after being inspired by a mommy who helped her 5 year-old daughter publish a book. Below is the first story Ariel narrated and transcript by Mommy.

Title: A Poisonous Apple

Once upon a time, there was a Happy goat. There was a Betty goat and a Lazy goat, who is always sleeping and eating. There was also a Strong goat, and there was a Softie goat. Then there was a Slow goat.

One day, there was a poisonous apple flying in the air and landed on Betty goat's head. Then Betty goat fell asleep. Happy goat went to tell Slow goat. He said, "Betty goat is sleeping because Big Grey wolf gave Betty goat a poisonous apple."

The Big Grey wolf also gave Lazy goat a poisonous apple. Lazy goat also fell asleep like Betty goat. Then Slow goat gave Lazy goat and Betty goat some grass and they woke up.

The End
