The Terracotta Warriors @ ACM

Last weekend, we had the priviledge of going on an excursion to the Asian Civilisation Museum with Ariel's Art school. Ariel had been doing a study on the subject of warriors and sculpture this term. Initially I thought that it's a bit difficult for children to grasp the concept of warriors? However, after the excursion, surprisingly, she seems to understand more than what I thought she would.

Although this exhibition is not big scale, we are amazed at the technology and activities employed to help students have a better understanding of the terracotta warriors. Using a free iphone application, visitors can view 3D images at the exhibition. In addition, as part of a school tour, the children have the privilege of embossing related images on copper sheets as well as digging in a sandpit, pretending to do archaeological work, so as to make it more hands-on for the children. Ariel had fun. and overall, we are very impressed with the exhibition.
